We collect information you voluntarily provide through our survey and mobile app:

Survey Data:

• Sneaker collection size
• Enthusiast type (collector, reseller, hobbyist, casual buyer)
• Resale frequency (for resellers)
• Desired product features
• Additional feature suggestions (if provided)

Mobile App Data:

• Account Information: Email address, username, profile picture (via Clerk authentication)
• Sneaker Collection Data: Brand, model, colorway, style code, purchase price, current value, condition, purchase date, and images you upload
• Collection Metadata: Collection names, descriptions, public/private visibility settings
• Subscription Data: Subscription tier (Free/Pro), payment status, transaction history (via RevenueCat)
• Value Data: Sneaker values provided and managed by users
• User Submissions: Catalog submissions for sneakers not in our database
• Analytics Data: App usage patterns, feature interactions (via Vexo Analytics)
• Technical Information: Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, a random installation ID generated by the app (not a hardware or advertising identifier), and your push notification token if you enable notifications

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Collection Management: To enable you to track, organize, and manage your sneaker collection
• Portfolio Value Tracking: To support user-managed sneaker values and profit/loss calculations for your sneakers
• Social Features: To display public collections and enable community features (when you choose to make collections public)
• Subscription Services: To manage your Pro subscription tier and provide premium features
• Product Development: To understand user interests, preferences, and desired features
• Analytics: To analyze app usage and improve our product
• Security & Abuse Prevention: To keep accounts secure and detect abuse, such as one person operating several free accounts, using the installation ID and account activity
• Communication: To respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and send important account updates
• Launch Notifications: To notify survey participants when new features are available
• Product Updates & Marketing: To send occasional emails about new features, improvements, app milestones, tips, and invitations to share feedback or rate the app

Email Communications

If you create an account or share your email with us, we may send you two kinds of email:

• Service emails: Account, security, subscription, and data-related notices (for example, changes that affect your account or this policy). These are part of providing the service and cannot be opted out of while you have an account.
• Product update and marketing emails: Occasional news about features, milestones, app updates, tips, and ways to support SneakersBook. We only send these when you have explicitly consented via an opt-in checkbox. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time via that link or by emailing us.

Consent for Marketing Communications

Under UK GDPR and PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), we require your explicit, prior consent before sending marketing emails. You must affirmatively opt in to receive marketing communications. We do not use pre-ticked boxes or assumed consent.

Your data is stored securely using Convex, a trusted backend-as-a-service platform. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Limited access controls (team members only)

Data and Account Deletion

You have two self-service deletion options available at any time on our Account Deletion page after verifying your email: delete your data only (keeps your account credentials active), or delete your account completely. To receive a copy of your data before deletion, email us with the subject line "Data Export Request" before proceeding.

Your Rights Regarding Data Transfers:

If you take part in our referral program (Android app only during early access), we process: the referral code you share or redeem; which account invited which; how the code reached the app (typed, pasted, a link, or the Google Play install referrer); whether the invited account went on to pay (not your payment details); the rewards applied; and fraud-prevention signals, such as whether two accounts share a device identifier created by our app or the same normalized email address. We use this only to run the program, apply rewards and prevent abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interests (UK GDPR). We never access your contacts or send messages on your behalf. Referral records are kept for up to 24 months after the referral. When you delete your account, your own referral data is deleted, and referrals you took part in are anonymized so they no longer identify you (the other person keeps their progress).
